Paula Bothe is President and C.E.O. of Four Alarm Productions, Inc., a full service Advertising and Public Relations Company founded in 1977. She is a graduate of Baylor University with a B.A. in Theatre and English Literature. She earned her Texas Teaching certificate from Lamar University.
For ten years, she was the Technical Director for the Beaumont Community Theatre where she was principally known as a director of musicals and the founder of the children’s theatre program. Currently, she is serving on the steering committee for the Community Theatre Building Campaign and continues to direct.
She was associate Producer for the film, “One of the Missing” which was awarded the international grand prize, the “Cine Eagle” at the Atlanta Film Festival. The film has aired on PBS on several occasions and is available on DVD. She was casting director for the Tokyo based Basara Company’s video on the life of Janis Joplin which was shot in Port Arthur and in Los Angeles. Her video on the City of Beaumont’s Parks and Recreation Department won first place in the Southwest region.
She has served as an instructor for the Lamar University continuing education program conducting classes on public relations for non-profit organizations.
Event Coordinator for the 100th anniversary of the Lucas gusher, “Spindletop” 2001 on “The Big Day,” Paula coordinated public relations for the event that was attended by more than 30,000 people. She also served as liaison with former president, George H. W. Bush.
At the present time, she represents a diversified group of clients including Pivotal Energies, Atlanta Gas Light, and Feld Entertainment, for whom she works as a publicist throughout the state.
AWARDS & HONORS
Paula has been recognized many times for her outstanding achievements. In 1992 and 1994 she was awarded the Texas Graphic Excellence Award for advertising design. In 2001 the American Heart Association designated her as the recipient of their annual “Woman With Heart” award. In 2001 she also received the Athena Award from the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce and was named their Small Business Person of the Year. The Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce recognized her in 2004 as their Volunteer of the Year. The Pioneering Women of the Golden Triangle National Women’s History Project selected her as an outstanding entrepreneurial woman in 2006.
As member of the Downtown Beaumont Rotary Club, she has been Vice President, Club Secretary, a member of the Board of Directors and a Trustee of the Rotary Foundation. She was named a Paul Harris Fellow in 1995.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Currently she is a member of the Executive Board of Directors of the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce and has recently been elected to another 3-year term and designated Chairman of Special Events. She has served on numerous boards including the United Way, the 100 Club and the Three Rivers Council of The Boy Scouts of America. She has held board positions with the Police Activities League, The Beaumont Civic Opera and the Beaumont Community Players. She was formerly a member of the Public Relations Society of America and is currently affiliated with the International Association of Assembly Managers and the Southeast Texas Advertising Federation.
